Annemarie E. Ward Background / History

Annemarie E. Ward was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she attended Central High School. She went on to continue her education at Temple University, graduating in 2009 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and distinction in her major.

Annemarie matriculated to Delaware Law Widener University in the Fall of 2015. While in law school she was involved in various student organizations and pro bono opportunities. At Delaware Law, Annemarie focused her studies on trial advocacy and developed strong trial advocacy skills as a competitive member of the Phi Alpha Delta Trial Team and Delaware Law’s Moe Levine Trial Team. Annemarie was also a member of the Delaware Law Moot Court Honors Society, which whom she held the position of Vice President in charge of the New Member Competition. Annemarie was also a member of the George Read Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, serving as Justice of the Executive Board. She was also elected to the position of Vice President of Student and Alumni Relations for the Student Bar Association. Among her other accolades, Annemarie graduated Cum Laude in 2018 with her Juris Doctorate, receiving pro bono distinction.

While in law school, Annemarie interned with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. She also participated in the Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project in Philadelphia (YSRP), where she had the privilege of helping one of the many juvenile lifers be re-sentenced following the Miller and Montgomery decisions. During her time with YSRP she was trained in mitigation and gained insight into the other side of the Justice system. From then on it became her passion to fight for the rights of people who may not have the power or privilege to speak up for themselves. Her primary area of practice is criminal law.

Annemarie is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Annemarie stays active in both the legal and local community. She is a member of the Delaware County Bar Association as well as the Philadelphia Bar Association. She has continued her involvement with Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity and currently serves as Justice of the Executive Board of the Magaw Alumni Chapter in Philadelphia.
